Community Classes

Students of all ages and levels can join TYSA to develop their musical skills through programs like the Tacoma Young Violin Program and the Tacoma Community Ukulele Project.

Tacoma Young Violin Program

Tacoma Young Violin Program (TYVP) is for young people (ages 6-10) who wish to explore and discover the violin! Students will learn beginning violin skills, note-reading, rhythmic foundations, how to play together in a group, and have the opportunity to make new friends.

Tacoma Community Ukulele Project

Students with no prior musical experience can learn ukulele in this fun and dynamic program.

Discover Drums!

Students learn rhythm skills and try out world percussion instruments in a fun drum circle setting—no previous musical experience necessary!

Music Theory

TYSA offers a wide range of music theory classes designed to deepen students’ understanding of the language of music, including note-reading, harmony, music history, and more!
