July 7 – 9, 2026 • Tacoma City Theaters
Bassoon Fest Northwest is a three-day, immersive summer intensive presented in partnership with the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association, designed for bassoonists of all ages and experience levels. The festival offers a welcoming and engaging environment where students explore the bassoon through ensemble playing, fundamentals, masterclasses, creative activities, and mentorship from experienced artist-educators.
The program emphasizes both skill-building and curiosity—supporting beginning bassoonists, advancing developing players, and offering a special pathway for students who are interested in switching to bassoon from another instrument. Through hands-on learning and collaborative music-making, students gain confidence, discover new possibilities on the instrument, and connect with a vibrant community of fellow bassoonists.
Bassoon Fest Northwest is all about discovery, creativity, and community—helping young musicians grow their skills, meet fellow bassoonists, and experience the fun in making music together in an encouraging and inclusive environment.
