Rebecca Pelandini currently teaches orchestra at Bethel High School and Centennial Elementary School in the Bethel School District. Prior to working in the Bethel School District, Rebecca taught in the Puyallup School District teaching elementary and junior high school orchestra for fifteen years. Rebecca earned her Bachelors of Music Education in 2000 and her Masters of Music Education from Central Washington University in 2005. At CWU, she was the graduate teaching assistant instructing the string methods courses and was Director of the String Preparatory Program. During her time at CWU, she studied violin with Carrie Rehkopf and viola with Scott Hosfeld.
Rebecca has performed with various community orchestras, including the Wenatchee Symphony, Yakima Symphony, Federal Way Symphony, Lake Union Civic Orchestra, and most recently with the Olympia Symphony.
Throughout her career, Rebecca has been actively involved with WMEA and W-ASTA serving as the HS All-State Orchestra manager, is on the board of the Mountain Region MEA and is the current W-ASTA President. Most recently, she has coached viola sectionals for the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association and is on the faculty of the TYSA Evergreen Music Festival held each summer. Rebecca has also served as a Bethel School District Orchestra PLC Co-leader and is currently the Department Chair for World Languages, Physical Education, and the Fine and Performing Arts at Bethel High School. She is on the staff of the W-ASTA Birch Bay String Teachers Workshop, has guest conducted various honor orchestras, and is an active adjudicator for orchestra and solo/ensemble festivals. She lives in Puyallup with her husband Matthew, her son Benjamin, and crazy cats Mango and Gracie.
