Ms. Sartori is excited to get new students started on their musical journey with Prelude Strings! An experienced beginning strings educator, she loves getting to equip and inspire students at the beginning of their adventure with orchestral musicianship. Seeing a student lighting up when they have a breakthrough, connecting their playing to music they hear out in the world, or learning the balance of listening and adapting that makes ensemble magic possible – this is where it all starts! A TYSA alum herself, she is honored by the opportunity to give back to the next generation of young musicians alongside the stellar TYSA team.
Ms. Sartori began playing the violin in 4th grade in the Bethel School District with Karla Epperson and Shari Leavens, and played in the TYSA orchestras in grades 6-12. After earning undergraduate degrees in music education and violin performance from Washington State University in 2009, she has been teaching elementary and middle school orchestras in the Olympia School District and playing in the Olympia Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has attained a Masters Degree in Violin Performance from Central Washington University, as well as National Board Certification.
In addition to working with her wonderful students in Olympia, Ms. Sartori has adjudicated at solo/ensemble and large group festivals, and is the West Side Member-At-Large of the Washington chapter of the American String Teachers’ Association. She also enjoys opportunities to share her expertise with teacher interns and learn with colleagues at the Birch Bay String Teachers’ Workshop.
When not on the podium, Ms. Sartori loves to play in pit orchestras, read string quartets, knit, swing dance, and roller skate!
